Due Diligence

Details

The module "Due-Diligence" enables to constrain the scope of action for a user defined group in the share web interface. It allows the group to access the flash preview of a document only. The possibility to download documents is not given in this particular case. The module was built for due diligence- and review-processes.

The module consists of several web scripts which query the group membership of the user and will only allow access to document actions and document links to authorized users.

A 'view-only' user can only see the flash preview.

Install Due Dilligence Module for Alfresco Share

  1. Log into alfresco and create a new due dilligence group i.e. ‘view_only’

  2. Copy “duedilligenceX_share.amp” into

    /ALF_HOME/amps_share/

  3. Install amp module

    java -jar /opt/ALF_HOME/bin/alfresco-mmt.jar install /opt/ALF_HOME/amps_share/<modul>.amp /opt/ALF_HOME/tomcat/webapps/share.war -verbose

  4. Open “spring-webscripts-config-custom.xml”

change value of <name> tag to ‘view_only’

  5. Copy “spring-webscripts-config-custom.xml” into

    /ALF_HOME/tomcat/shared/classes/META-INF/

  6. Add users to ‘view_only’ group.

Importand notes

The module works like that: A user is member of ‘view_only’ and can’t download any document in any site.

  • Do not add the Group ‘view_only’ or its users to a site!
  • The module does not prevent users from taking screenshots or grabbing the flash-file via browser plugins!

Troubleshooting:

Check logfile for warning:

  • switch loglevel to debug:
    • edit /ALF_HOME/tomcat/webapps/share/WEB-INF/classes/log4j.properties
    • find line log4j.logger.org.alfresco.repo.jscript.ScriptLogger and switch to ‘debug’
